Stories for December 29, 2007

Greetings again. Sorry for the dry spell...holidays and all, doncha know. Anyways....

- Disney's Avalanche Software studio will deliver a tie-in game for next year's Bolt (which was once known as American Dog).

- If Fallout 3 lives up to their commercial expectations, ZeniMax (Bethesda's corporate parent) has every intention of acquiring the dormant Fallout MMO property from Interplay, for development as their fledgling online studio's second MMO title. What will be the first? Elder Scrolls, of course.

- id/Raven's Return to Castle Wolfenstein II (don't expect that name to stick) is still on track for 2008, and it looks terrific.

Interesting mate, I would love to know more about the next elder scrolls.

Will it be an MMO rather than a singleplayer experience? Always thought the next one would be "the elder scrolls hammerfell or sunset isle"...

Bethesda is completely absorbed in Fallout 3 right now and for the next few months, with Elder Scrolls V being temporarily on the back burner (though it should start moving along in development later this summer, as F3 enters the final stages of production).

Regarding an Elder Scrolls MMO...that, of course, is going to be the first product from Bethesda parent Zenimax's new dedicated online studio, and it will be a separate game from ES5. Integration between the two games, however, is possible and is one of the first ideas they've discussed regarding ES5, if they can figure out a way to ensure that character portability between the two games stays fair.

I wouldn't say the Fallout MMO is currently dormant.
